Rising on a five game streak without a loss as they take down Detroit City 5-0

The Phoenix Rising went head to head against Detroit City FC at home on Saturday and snagged a 5-0 in its inaugural game against the franchise.

The Rising clocked 58% of possession time with seven of their 14 shots on target. The team had an impressive 71% success rate with shots on target resulting in goals.

In its second season as member of the USL, Tulsa had a whopping nine shot attempts with only one being on target.

An impressive offensive showing for the Rising resulted in completing their passes with 84% accuracy. In result, four different players found the back of the net in 90 minutes.

To kick it off for the Rising, who other than the USL Player of the Month and Golden Boot contender Danny Trejo to score the first goal during bonus time of the first half.  Trejo found the back of the net once more in the 65th minute, putting the team up 3-0.

Panos Armenakas scored quickly out of halftime to up the score 2-0 in the 56th minute. After Trejo’s second goal of the game to put them up 3-0, Manuel Arteaga scored in the 81st minute.

To add insult to injury, the Rising kept its foot on the gas against Detroit City as Dariusz Formella scored the teams fifth goal off of the bench in the closing minutes of the match.

After the incredible week that Danny Trejo had, adding two goals to his performance on Saturday night resulted in him getting respectively pulled from the match in the 79th minute.

The Rising added to the hot-streak that they are on as they are rounding out their season on a five game streak without any losses and moved up one spot to N0. 4 in the Western Group of the USL Championship.
