Zac Gallen has boasted phenomenal numbers throughout the entirety of the season. Currently Gallen has an ERA of 3.17 (4th in National League). The Diamondbacks ace is third in wins (13), fourth strikeouts (168), and first in WHIP (1.05).

In Gallen’s 162 innings thrown this year the all-star has only allowed 15 homeruns. Gallen has also issued just 33 walks on the year. To make all this just that much more impressive, Gallen is second in the National League with 26 starts.

Zac Gallen has the best betting odds across every major platform. FanDuel has him at +165 which are the best odds across the board. The Cesars Sportsbook has him at +200 which are his lowest odds.

Over his last five starts Gallen has thrown 25.1 innings allowing just six runs. The Cy Young front runner has a collective ERA of 2.13 over the span.

In a recent episode of On Base with Mookie Betts, Gallen talked a bit about coming in fifth last season in the voting. He claimed he “didn’t necessarily feel snubbed.” and that after last season his thoughts moving forward were to “never settle.”

On the same episode Mookie asked Gallen about his chances of winning it this year. Humbly, Gallen gave credit to his competitors rather than himself. The Diamondbacks ace talked about Blake Snell of the Padres and Spencer Strider at the Braves also have great years.

Zac Gallen clearly has one goal in mind, getting better whether it be every outing, or every season, and making the playoffs.
