According to new reports, the Phoenix Suns are in the process of exploring trade possibilities regarding G Cam Payne as they continue their free agency frenzy.

Payne was originally drafted in the first round of the 2015 draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Since then, he has played with the Cavaliers and the Bulls before joining the Suns midway through the 2019 season.

With the Suns, Payne has gone through three different playoff runs and has played a critical role off the bench, averaging over 10 points per game in three of the past four seasons.

However, with a new owner in Mat Ishbia, it has been made abundantly clear that anything is on the table this offseason.

Per Jake Fischer at Yahoo Sports, “Phoenix has continued to explore trade scenarios regarding reserve guard Cam Payne.”

Additionally, the Suns reportedly have T.J. McConnell on their radar, a guard for the Pacers. McConnell is entering his ninth season in the league; last year, he shot .441 from beyond the arc and averaged 8.7 points per game.

The Suns need another playmaker and three-point specialist, and this might just be their guy.
