In front of 45 thousand fans, the Diamondbacks 5th largest crowd on the season, Cleveland got the bats hot early. By the third inning, the Guardians already had a 5-1 lead thanks to three extra-base hits and a pair of singles.
But that would just be the beginning, as the Guardians would add on a whopping six runs in the fourth inning, ultimately putting the game out of reach.
The loss put the Diamondbacks at a 3-4 record on the homestand. Next up is a seven-game road stretch starting against the Brewers on Monday.
Arizona will enter this series with a 3.5-game lead over the San Francisco Giants for first place in the National League West.Â
