The Arizona Diamondbacks attempt at a sweep against the Nationals will have to hold off a bit as the final matchup of the three-game series has been postponed due to air quality.
Smoke from the Canadian fires has now extended into the D.C. area. Already, multiple other teams have seen cancellations due to these fires, such as the Yankees and the Phillies.
While the smoke is expected to clear over the next 24 hours, the Diamondbacks will not replay their game against the Nationals until Thursday, June 22.
Instead, the D-backs will hop on a plane to Detroit, where they will begin a three-game series against the Tigers on Friday.
Merrill Kelly will still get the start for Arizona to begin this series, as they will stick with their regularly scheduled rotation. Ryne Nelse and Zac Gallen will follow on Saturday and Sunday.
The Diamondbacks will enter Detroit as heavy favorites against a Tigers team that has lost seven of their last eight games.
