The Diamondbacks have won back-to-back games against the Nationals and have cruised into holding the most wins in the National League.

Zach Davies got the start for Arizona. He provided 6.2 innings of two-run baseball in his first solid start back from an oblique tear a few months ago.

Davies was credited with the win as he exited the game with a 3-2 victory.

The Diamondbacks offense stayed hot, even without Lourdes Gurriel Jr. in the lineup. The 1-5 hitters combined for a 14-25 night at the plate, all had multi-hit games.

Corbin Carroll in particular had a monster night, recording four hits in five at-bats. This includes a home run in the ninth inning, bringing his batting average on the season back to .300.

In total, the Diamondbacks’ bats racked up 15 hits, proving once again that they have one of the best offenses in baseball.

Their bullpen was also lights out for a second straight night. After Zach Davies was taken out in the 7th, Austin Adams, Scott McGough, and Andrew Chafin allowed just two runners on base.

With the Dodgers losing on a walk-off to the Reds, the Diamondbacks hold a full two-game lead for first place in the NL West.

The D-backs will wrap up their three-game series against the Nationals tomorrow at 10 AM. With a chance of a sweep on the line, it will be Merrill Kelly getting the start for the snakes.
