However this article is about a few statistical categories the D-Backs are top 5 in.

Diamondbacks Batting Average

The D-Backs are in third in entire league, both NL and AL in batting average. They are hitting the ball extremely well to open this 2023 season, getting production from the entire lineup.

Hitters 1-9 are producing, yet so are some of the bench players, doing the most with every opportunity. As a team the Diamondbacks are hitting a strong .270 even.

That places them at third on the list of teams, behind only the best team in baseball in the Tampa Bay Rays (.273) and the red hot Boston Red Sox (.272).

The long ball has not been prominent with Arizona this season but sprinkling singles and doubles around the grass has been special to watch.

D-Backs Also Top 5 in Hits

It goes hand in hand that if you are top 5 in batting average that you might be top 5 in hits as well. Total hits on the season for the Diamondbacks is 404, sitting in 4th place on the list.

Ahead of them on the list is the Boston Red Sox (411), St. Louis Cardinals (413), and top place Tampa Bay Rays (421).

The only problem this young team has faced this season is bullpen pitching. The hitting is top 5 in the league and the starting pitching is full of youth and talent led by none other Zac Gallen.
