The Arizona Diamondbacks evened up their two-game series against the Rangers on Wednesday with a 12-7 road victory.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! While starting pitcher Brandon Pfaadt struggled in his MLB debut, allowing seven earned runs on nine hits in 4.2 innings, the bullpen was close to perfect, eliminating any further threat.
José Ruiz, Miguel Castro, Joe Mantiply, and closer Andre Chafin provided 4.1 shutout innings in relief, striking out seven batters.
Meanwhile, the Diamondbacks jumped all over the Rangers’ bullpen, putting up five runs in the seventh inning. In an inning where the whole team saw an at-bat, it was close to a complete team effort to put the game away.
This is besides Christian Walker, who tied a career-high with five RBIs. Walker has begun to get into quite the groove at the plate, as the 32-year-old now has nine hits in the past five games.
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. also had an impressive afternoon, as he was right beside Walker with three runs scored. Gurriel scored the Diamondbacks final run in the eighth inning with a solo homer.
