Pfaadt was drafted in the fifth round of the 2020 draft by the Diamondbacks and was pulled up to triple-A last year.

In Spring Training, Pfaadt recorded a 3.75 ERA throughout his four starts.

So far this season in triple-A, the 24-year-old has allowed 11 earned runs in 25.1 innings. He also has 30 strikeouts.

After releasing Madison Bumgarner and having Zach Davies enter the 15-day IL, the D-backs are in desperate need of some more starting pitching.

Pfaadt’s major league debut will be against a tough Rangers lineup that is currently 5th in the MLB with a .876 OPS.

First pitch will be at 11:05 a.m. at Globe Life Field in Arlington.
