The Suns struggled from three for a majority of the game as they finished with 30% shooting for the night and only made 7 of them. On the other hand, Jamal Murray was sensational last night. He finished the game with 34 points and 9 assists while shooting 60% from three and making 6 of them which almost equaled the amount the Suns had as a team.

Nikola Jokic (24 points and 19 rebounds) and Michael Porter Jr. (23 points and 75% shooting) had good games in their own right and helped give the Nuggets an efficient shooting night in which the team shot 47%.

As for the Suns, Kevin Durant (29 points and 14 rebounds) and Devin Booker (27 points and 8 assists), both had really good efficient shooting nights as well and the rest of the team helped the Suns finish with 51% shooting for the night.

Unfortunately, the biggest takeaway from the game was the Suns’ turnovers. They had 16 as a team and the Nuggets had 14 steals. Durant in particularly struggled as he turned the ball over 7 times on the night. After the game, Durant talked with the media and took responsibility for last night’s blowout loss.

The Nuggets did a good job of poking the ball out when they got Durant in one on one situations at the top of the paint. Turnovers have been killer for Durant throughout the playoffs as he’s been averaging 4 turnovers and has had at least 5 or more turnovers in 3 out of his 6 playoff games so far.

Nuggets take Game 1, 125-107

The Suns will get another shot on Monday night as they will face the Nuggets back at the Ball Arena. Hopefully, the Suns can limit the turnovers and play a little more clean brand of basketball.
