The Phoenix Suns are two days away before they step foot to play the Los Angeles Clippers in a 7 game series for the first-round of the NBA playoffs.

With this comes a year where there was a lot of changes made to the roster with the addition of Kevin Durant being added to the team only two months ago. With the team sitting at 8-0 during games where he has played for them, the Suns are poised and hungry to get to some playoff basketball.

One player in particular that’s been waiting for this moment all season long is Chris Paul as he has been chomping at the bit to get to playoff basketball as he was asked earlier in the week about being locked in for a championship run.

Paul has been in the league since 2005 when he got drafted by the then New Orleans Hornets. Since then, he’s never won an NBA finals after having a hall-of-fame level career.

He’s a 12x NBA All-Star, 11-time All NBA team, 9-time Defensive team, NBA Rookie of the Year winner, 5x assists leader, and 6x steals leader. And this all without saying that he’s top 5 in assists all-time and recognized as one of the greatest point guards to ever play the game.

So much so that Devin Booker was asked about what Paul has meant to him throughout his NBA career and how much he learns from him as much as he can.

“That’s a very close friend of mine outside of this game he’s always looked out for me even when we weren’t teammates you know so I’ve always had a high regard and respect for him and what he’s done for the NBA.”

Paul is looking to put a bigger stamp on his legacy with a Championship ring at the end of this season. If the Suns can continue to hone in on the attention to detail and play for one another, it could end up being a special season for everyone and especially Paul.
