The New York Jets are reportedly interested in five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, according to NFL insider Albert Breer.

New York currently has a lot on its plate as it still has to figure out its quarterback situation. As many already know, the Jets have been the top runner to land Aaron Rodgers this offseason. However, talks have recently stalled as the Packers are asking for quite a bit.

The same goes for the Cardinals and their wide receiver. Arizona initially asked for a second-round draft pick plus some defensive weapons, but this was quickly shot down in the free agency market.

The Jets initially wanted free agent Odell Beckham Jr., but he signed with the Ravens last week.

On the other hand, it was noted by Breer that New York was unwilling to pay $15 million for Beckham. That being said, Hopkins is due to earn $15.09 million next season and $19.45 million the following year.

This $15 million price tag has made it extremely difficult for Hopkins to find a new home, even as he has made it clear that he wants to join a “championship caliber” team.

The Cardinals do have the third overall draft pick, which will come into play later this month. This pick can give them some leverage to work a trade in their favor if they really want to spice things up.

Stay tuned for more updates.
