Suns Associate Head Coach Kevin Young Set To Interview For The Rockets Head Coach Gig

The Houston Rockets parted ways with head coach Stephen Silas just a couple of days ago and are wasting no time looking for their next head coach candidate.

Amongst the people that they are set to interview for the position, Phoenix Suns assistant head coach Kevin Young set to interview for job according to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski.

Young has been a hot name for some time as is shown in the above tweet and head coach Monty Williams has praised him for some of the things he helps him with on a day-to-day basis from the scheme, to matchups they like to use per game, and to rotation.

Young served as the Delaware 87ers head coach for 4 years back from 2014-2017 before becoming an assistant head coach with the Philidelphia 76ers for an added 4 years. Now he has been serving as an assistant coach with the Suns since 2020 and got promoted this year as Associate Head Coach this season.

It would be interesting to see how may more Suns assistants would be looked at over the offseason for new positions. As of right now though,it seems pretty clear that the Suns top assistant is already get looked at by other franchises.
