D-Backs Start Season Off

Christian Walker through the first series is on fire, batting .429 with one home run against the Dodgers. The pitching for the D-Backs are responsible for the two wins however, the rest of the bats are still in Spring Training.

Arizona has six players batting under the Mendoza line (.200) through the first 4 games of the season. Which shows when you look at the scored from over the weekend.

The two games that the Diamondbacks won were by the total of 2-1. While both games that they lost were combined 18-3; a 10-1 victory and a 8-2 victory for the Dodgers.

Drey Jameson Out of the Pen

Drey Jameson show a lot of gut and grit coming out of the pen against the mighty Dodgers. In the words of Torey Lovullo, he is the reason we won today.

Jameson came into the game when it was close and pitched 4 innings only giving up 2 hits and one solo home run. He struck out 5 batters in those 4 innings and gave the D-Backs a win.

The rookie who has tremendous promise as a starter will be leaned on heavily through out this season in the bull pen. It is a treat for Lovullo to be able to go to him for multiple innings like this.

D-Backs ended up winning that game 2-1 as Jameson showed he can pitch not only at this level; but at this level effectively and in tough situations.

Off to San Diego

The D-Backs play two in San Diego against the Padres before their home debut later this week.

Tonight Ryne Nelson will take the bump, tomorrow Zac Gallen will get the honors for his second start of the season.
