
In the Arizona Diamondbacks’ 5-1 win over the Milwaukee Brewers, Diamondbacks pitcher Zac Gallen extended his scoring streak to 41 1/3 innings. He pitched seven scoreless innings, giving up two hits, struck out seven, and only had one walk. Also, Gallen retired the last 11 batters he faced.
The Diamondbacks starting pitcher tied a major-league record with his sixth consecutive scoreless start. He tied Don Drysdale, Orel Hershiser, and Zach Grienke. The record for most consecutive scoreless innings was set by Hershiser in 1988 when he went pitched 59 scoreless innings.
In the last six starts, Gallen is 5-0 with a 0.58 WHIP; in his scoreless inning streak, Gallen has truck 46 batters. So far this season, Gallen is 11-2 with a 2,42 ERA. He has pitched 152.2 innings and has struck 152 batters.
