The league announced three new expansion teams that will join the WNBA in the coming years. This caused mixed reactions, but the main highlight is that the teams would offer more roster spot opportunities for players.

However, the Phoenix All-Star believes the focus should be on the current players and teams.

When asked by Stephen PridGeon-Garner about her thoughts on the expansion, Sabally expressed her wish for roster expansions and having teams be held accountable for player investment.

“Let’s focus on the teams that have everything set up right now,” she said. “Maybe focus on the teams that find excuses to continuously lack investment in their players before we focus on adding more to the grain of people that can’t be sustained.”

Despite this, Sabally is excited to see the league grow in Philadelphia and Detroit.

“We really have to put an emphasis on the players in the league right now but I love to see the league growing.”
