Pulling off a dramatic 67-66 victory over France to win its eighth consecutive Olympic gold medal, Team USA celebrated in style, including Phoenix Mercury stars Diana Taurasi, Kahleah Copper and Brittney Griner.

Adding to their insurmountable record in women’s basketball history, the United States extended its winning streak to 61 straight games at the Olympics since the 1992 Barcelona Games. In 44 of the games, Taurasi has played and she has won a record six gold medals in the process.

Copper won her first gold in her first Olympics while Griner has done so for the third time in as many Olympic Games.

Along with superstars like A’ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu, the Americans went on to go a perfect 6-0 throughout the tournament, dominating their competition all the way up to the final. Copper scored 10 pivotal points in the fourth quarter, including two game-deciding free throws with five seconds left, against France.
