In the last two weeks, the Arizona Cardinals have lost star running back James Conner to a season-ending ankle injury in their week 3 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, and they have now recently placed their second-string running back, Trey Benson, on IR with a knee injury. That just leaves the Cardinals with a three-headed RB group that consists of Emari Demerado, Bam Knight, and Michael Carter.

There are options around the NFL right now, though the Cardinals could take advantage of, by trading for a talented RB to make sure their season doesn’t take too much of a hit. Two potential trade targets that Arizona could be eyeing are Alvin Kamara from the New Orleans Saints and Breece Hall from the New York Jets.

The New Orleans Saints are rebuilding, though even their star running back, Alvin Kamara, can’t seem to get any momentum for them. The dual-threat experienced playmaker could be a perfect piece for this Cardinals offense, and could provide a spark out of the backfield that could potentially help their playcalling issues as well.

Breece Hall is currently in the final year of his rookie contract, and the writing is on the wall that the future of the New York Jets might not include him. Getting some good draft capital back and young talent could help their front office for the time being. Bringing his versatility and youth to the Arizona Cardinals’ running back room could be not just a move for this season, but for years to come. Hall currently leads the Jets with 38 carries and 157 rushing yards.

After two massive and unfortunate injuries have sidelined the heart of the Arizona Cardinals’ RB core, they now have a couple of golden opportunities to scoop up a talented piece of the puzzle that they are now missing.
