PHOENIX – After a disastrous 14-point performance on Saturday vs. the Milwaukee Bucks, many fans were worried if superstar Devin Booker had lost a step. During the team’s five-game losing streak, the five-time All-Star shot just 44% from the field and 25% from beyond the arc. A respectable 12-pont first half led the way to an explosion in the third quarter, where the 29-year-old scored 13 points in the frame and solidified Sunday’s XX-XX over the Toronto Raptors.

3rd Quarter Magic by Booker

Green was the star in the first half and to begin the third quarter. The 24-year-old’s flashy finishes was warranted of plenty oohs from the crowd. However, Booker wouldn’t be overdone with just a masterclass on offense. The two-time All-NBA member doubled his scoring outing with 13 third quarter points. Toronto had no answer, as Booker was getting to his spots, on the elbow and beyond the arc, finishing at the rim to explode the lead to 30 points on an and-one.

The monster quarter put the game out of reach for Toronto, as head coach Jordan Ott sat Booker for the final frame. He finished Sunday’s matchup with 25 points and six assists, shooting nine-of-15 from the field and three-of-six from beyond the arc. It was his second-best shooting performance of March and only his second game shooting 60% or better since January 2nd.

With Dillon Brooks ramping up for his expected return, head coach Jordan Ott getting his leading scorer back into a rhythm is critical for a team striving to make a playoff push in the final 10 games of the season.
