Moreno’s value is felt on both sides of the ball. His defense — highlighted by pitch framing, blocking, and controlling the running game — sets him apart from the average catcher. According to MLB Network, Moreno has ranked fourth in the league with +31 catcher Defensive Runs Saved (DRS) since 2023.

Offensively, Moreno has maintained a contact-first approach while showing occasional power in his swing. In 2025, he posted a .285 batting average, .353 on-base percentage, and a .786 OPS, despite missing time due to injury.

The Diamondbacks have relied on his ability to handle a diverse pitching staff, which has served as a stabilizing force for the club. This recognition places Moreno in high regard and reflects his continued growth since joining the organization.

While many clubs prioritize either offense or defense from the catcher position, Moreno’s balanced skill set has made him especially valuable to the D-Backs.

The top-10 placement showcases where the Diamondbacks catcher is now and where he could go in the years to come.
