Several reports circulating on social media this week have linked Marte to multiple clubs, most notably the Boston Red Sox, as a potential trade target. Marte, an All-Star and long-time franchise cornerstone, is under contract through 2027 with a club option for 2028.

Much speculation online suggested the team was looking to move Marte as soon as possible before the start of next season, especially with what transpired in the days following the All-Star break.

Lovullo, however, made clear that the Diamondbacks are not actively trying to move him.

“I love Ketel Marte,” Lovullo said on MLB Network. “To say that we are actively trying to push him out and move him off the Arizona Diamondbacks is not a true statement.”

Marte remains one of the club’s most popular players and his production would make him an attractive option for any team willing to assemble a substantial trade package. The Diamondbacks continue to seek pitching help and Marte’s value could give them what they need.

According to MLB Network’s Jon Heyman, interest in Marte has continued to grow, with the Red Sox, Seattle Mariners, Toronto Blue Jays, Philadelphia Phillies and Tampa Bay Rays among the teams looking to add him to their roster.

As the meetings continue, there remains uncertainty whether Marte will play in the desert next year.
