After the 2025 MLB All-Star break, the Arizona Diamondbacks’ All-Star second baseman missed two games when he traveled to the Dominican Republic, time off that stirred frustration and speculation about his long-term commitment to the club. Marte took ownership of a decision that brought added scrutiny.
