The Mercury picked up a win against the Washington Mystics, 88-72, on July 27. It was a game of two halves, with Phoenix unable to stop Washington’s offense in the first. However, the Mercury were able to keep the Mystics to less than 15 points in the last two quarters.
Phoenix opened a 17-point lead in the fourth quarter, holding the lead for the rest of the game.

Alyssa Thomas had another double-double for the Mercury, with 27 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists.
Phoenix is now 16-9 and second in the Western Conference.

The Fever defeated the Chicago Sky, 93-78, on July 28. Indiana went on a run in the first quarter, outscoring the Sky by 13. Chicago fought back in the third quarter, making it a one-point game. However, the Fever quickly responded to push the lead back to double digits.
Kelsey Mitchell led scoring for the Fever with 35 points and six assists.
Indiana is 14-12 and is currently third in the Eastern Conference.
