K-pop girl group announced to open Diamondbacks and A’s game

SACRAMENTO — K-pop will meet baseball when the girl group NMIXX takes the field before the Arizona Diamondbacks take on the Athletics next Friday.

NMIXX — composed of members Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, Bae, Jiwoo and Kyujin — is from JYP Entertainment and has made waves around the world. The group released its fourth EP, “Fe3O4: FORWARD,” in March and announced its first concerts for November of this year.

Diamondbacks and A’s fans reacted to the unexpected announcement, with many being excited over the crossover.

According to the A’s ticketing page, NMIXX’s performance will be part of a West Coast MLB tour, although no official announcement from JYPE has been made.

The D-Backs head to Sacramento to take on the A’s for a three-game series next weekend, starting on Friday, Aug. 1.
