There has been considerable speculation recently surrounding Durant and where he might land, given the numerous trade rumors circulating. The Miami Heat, New York Knicks, and San Antonio Spurs were also in contention for a Durant trade, although ultimately Houston’s offer secured the deal.

The 36-year-old now enters his 18th season in the NBA heading to Houston to be paired up with the likes of Alperen Şengün, Jabari Smith Jr, Tari Eason, and Amen Thompson. Houston was able to come away with this trade without giving up any of those pieces, and can now insert Durant into a Houston roster with a lot of talent. Last season in Phoenix, Durant averaged 26.6 points along with 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists for the Suns.

Many are now wondering, how will newcomer Jalen Green fit into the equation with the Phoenix Suns. Devin Booker and Bradley Beal are already on this roster, so Phoenix will have to assess if the backcourt of Booker and Green is the way to go. Jalen Green or Bradley Beal could also be a possibility of a trade target as well, as this Phoenix team still needs the likes of a true point guard and center on this roster.

The Phoenix Suns are showing they are ready to make moves that they feel are necessary to win, and they might not be done just yet.
