PHOENIX – The Minnesota Timberwolves reportedly offered the best trade package to date for Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant, but the former MVP has no interest in joining the franchise.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!According to Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro, Minnesota proposed a deal involving Rudy Gobert, Donte DiVincenzo, rookie Rob Dillingham, and the No. 17 pick in this month’s draft. NBA insider Matt Moore added that the Brooklyn Nets would have been involved as a third team to help balance the financials.
But once Durant learned of the potential deal, he quickly dismissed it, telling Phoenix he would not play in Minnesota.

Durant holds firm on trade preferences
The Timberwolves seem the most desperate to trade for Durant and offer him an extension to pair with young superstar guard Anthony Edwards. Minnesota has made it to back-to-back Western Conference Finals, but lost both in five games. The franchise is trying to take that next step to reach its first Finals appearance in its history.

Despite the strong aspirations, the former MVP has made it clear that his top three teams are the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat. All three teams live in a state that doesn’t have a state tax, which is a huge incentive for Durant to be traded to those teams.
Durant and Edwards have had battles against each other in the playoffs and been a part of the same team at the Olympics in Paris winning the Gold medal. Regardless of the pairs success and respect for each other, it hasn’t swayed Durant to waver from his opinion to not play for Minnesota, leaving the Suns scrambling for another offer on par with the Timberwolves.
