PHOENIX — Phoenix Mercury forward Alyssa Thomas returned to action Wednesday night after missing five games with a left calf injury and wasted no time making her presence felt in a win over the Dallas Wings.

Thomas missed five games due to her injury. In her first game back, Thomas scored 11 points, recorded 10 assists and had two steals. Thomas told reporters after the game about her excitement to be back with her teammates.
“Finally we’re starting to get our whole team back,” she said. “So it’s just really exciting and a great game to come back for.”

Before the game, Thomas received a warm welcome from the Mercury fan base, known as the X-Factor, during lineup introductions and credited them with energizing the team throughout games.
“When we’re having bad moments in the game and you hear the fans cheering, it just gives you a whole other boost that takes it to another level,” said Thomas.

Thomas and the Mercury return to action this Sunday, June 11 against the Las Vegas Aces.
