LOS ANGELES – The D-Backs will finish off their stretch of playing NL West opponents by heading to the City of Angels to face the Dodgers in a three-game series.

The Snakes are coming into the series after taking two out of three games over the Colorado Rockies over the weekend. Arizona currently has a 25-22 record and is four games behind Los Angeles, as the Dodgers sit at the top of the division. They recently played Los Angeles about a week and a half ago over at Chase Field where they split the series two games a piece.

Monday’s pitching matchups:

Brandon Pfaadt will look to put his past start of giving up four earned runs on six hits in four innings pitched against the Giants behind him and focus on the overall steadiness he has shown this season. He did just have a great outing against the Dodgers a couple of weekends ago, where he went 6.1 innings without giving up any earned runs. Pfaadt is sporting a 6-3 record with a 3.73 ERA, and will look to hopefully get back to where he was during April, where he won five straight starts.

It sounds like the Los Angeles Dodgers will be starting left-handed pitcher Jack Dreyer tonight, although the bulk of the innings will be going to Landon Knack. Dreyer, in his last outing against the Angels only pitched two innings but didn’t allow a hit. Knack has a 5.89 ERA in 18.1 innings pitched this season.

If the D-Backs can win this series, they can show the rest of the NL West they mean business. This could be the most crucial series of May, and the Snakes have to capitalize on it. First pitch tonight at Dodger Stadium is at 7:10 p.m. PT.
