TEMPE — Arizona State softball is back in the NCAA Tournament.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The Sun Devils (35-19, 14-10) earned a spot in the Los Angeles Regional and will open postseason play Friday against San Diego State. It marks ASU’s first appearance since the addition of head coach Megan Bartlett, who took over the program following the departure of Trisha Ford after the 2022 season.
Arizona State’s strength of schedule and competitive showings in the Big 12 have helped the team secure a bid. The Sun Devils finished fifth in the conference and closed the regular season with loss to Texas Tech.
Arizona State is making its 34th NCAA Softball Tournament appearance and will look to build off postseason experience gained from a core group of returners, including senior pitcher Kenzie Brown, who has had a reliable arm during conference play.
The Los Angeles Regional is hosted by No. 1 seed of the regional, UCLA, who will face UC Santa Barbara in another opening-round matchup. Winners of regional will advance to the Super Regionals the following week.
First pitch between ASU and San Diago State is scheduled for Friday at Easton Stadium in Los Angeles.
