Merrill Kelly exits the game

Merrill Kelly right-handed starting pitcher left the game early as he began to experience excrutiating cramps in his right leg. This injury occurred during the sixth inning—where he shortly after bent forward and walked off the field for the rest of the game.

Thompson seals the win

He was then replaced by Ryan Thompson to continue the heat where Kelly left off against Seiya Suzuki. Thompson quickly put an end to the game by getting Suzuki to ground out.

Diamondbacks continue to prove their depth

Despite the setback, the Diamondbacks showed resilience and strength proving they’re built for any moment that may come their way deep into the season.
