TEMPE – It’s open season for Arizona State men’s basketball players in the transfer portal, as the latest departure comes in as senior guard Adam Miller. ASU has 10 transfer departures in this offseason alone for head coach Bobby Hurley’s squad. Miller was a steady voice in the locker room during the program’s rough season, as he was one of the few second year Sun Devils on the roster. Miller entering the transfer portal leaves a massive hole for Hurley on and off the court.

ASU guard Miller entering transfer portal:
Miller averaged 9.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.9 steals while leading the program in efficiency stats from the field and from beyond the arc. Towards the end of last season, Miller suffered multiple rough injuries and bumps that plagued him to finish the year. Hurley was impressed by his toughness but still protected his player to limited action down the stretch.

The latest announcement of Miller departing Tempe leaves freshman guard Trevor Best as the only returning player from last year, which is funny because Best joined the program in January, as he was still in high school at the beginning of the season.
Hurley has talented freshmen and transfers coming to the Valley to dawn the maroon and gold and bring ASU back to respectable heights. However, Miller brought leadership and toughness to a roster that will be hard to replace.
