It was Corbin Burnes’ first start as a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks, and it definitely was a memorable one. Burnes was dialed in early as he looked comfortable, taking care of the likes of Aaron Judge and company. He had his hiccups at times, but fought through it. He went up against New York Yankee starter Will Warren, who definitely held his own against the likes of a talented D-Backs offense. Corbin Burnes ended up with 4.1 innings pitched along with four hits, two earned runs, and eight strikeouts.

The D-Backs were down and out until the unsung hero so far of the 2025 season, Eugenio Suárez, hit the first grand slam for the Arizona Diamondbacks for this season. Not only that, but the first five hits for Suárez, have all been home runs. One of only three players to do so since 1990.

Suárez Mentioned:
“We never give up. We’ve been playing our game. We never give up. We try to have good at-bats, try to give the opportunity to our pitchers. They’ve been pitching really well… I was ready to swing. like I always say, I never try to hit a homer. I just see a ball coming to me… and I was able to hit a homer”
The Arizona Diamondbacks will look to capitalize on their energy and momentum from today’s win, as they play the New York Yankees at 4:05 MST tomorrow at Yankee Stadium.
