Kevin Durant has heated altercation with Rockets’ Dillon Brooks

PHOENIX— The Phoenix Suns endured another humiliating defeat Sunday night, falling 148-109 to the Houston Rockets. But beyond the lopsided score, one of the game’s defining moments came in the second quarter when Dillon Brooks and Kevin Durant got into a heated scuffle, ultimately leading to Brooks’ ejection.

Midway through the second quarter, Brooks committed a hard foul on Durant, leading to a brief but tense exchange as the two became entangled. Suns center Nick Richards immediately jumped in, pushing Brooks away as players from both teams rushed in. Brooks, visibly frustrated, directed profanities at the referees, leading to a swift ejection. He exited the game after playing just 11 minutes, finishing with eight points.

Despite Brooks’ early departure, the Rockets dominated from start to finish. Jalen Green led Houston with 33 points, and the Rockets shot a blistering 57% from the field and had 37 assists, picking apart Phoenix’s struggling defense.

Durant contributed only 11 points before he was forced to exit after suffering an apparent ankle injury. The severity of the injury remains unclear, but it adds another concern for a Suns team already slipping out of the play-in tournament race.

With the loss, Phoenix drops further behind in the standings, now sitting outside the play-in picture with less than three weeks left in the regular season. The Suns will need to regroup quickly, but with Durant’s status now in question, their postseason hopes are fading fast.
