PHOENIX – Arizona State football star running back Cam Skattebo showed out at the NFL combine. Skattebo announced on Friday that he would only be competing in two drills at the event: vertical jump and board jump. The Heisman finalist had elected not to do the 40-yard dash, which caught the eyes of many analysts as a possible red flag surrounding the halfback. However, he silenced the doubt by tying the second-best vertical jump amongst running backs at the 39.50″ mark.

Skattebo tied with Kansas State’s DJ Giddens, and both were behind Virginia Tech’s Bhayshul Tuten, who eclipsed over 40″ at the drill. In his second event, Skattebo recorded a 10’3″ in the board jump, finishing 12th amongst other running backs.

Regardless of the board jump drill result, Skattebo soared with his vertical and will rise many NFL teams’ draft boards. Skattebo will have another opportunity to impress NFL scouts, as he mentioned that he’ll fully participate in ASU’s pro day.
