Ahead of the last of a five-game road trip against the Brooklyn Nets, the Phoenix Suns are preparing to be without star guard Bradley Beal and bruising center Jusuf Nurkić.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Beal, who missed two of the first three games of the road trip with a left ankle sprain, was downgraded to questionable after returning to play against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
“It was good,” Beal said of how his ankle felt in the 118-92 loss to the NBA-best Cavaliers. “A little sore, but it was OK.”
The three-time All-Star looked visibly labored for stretches against Cleveland where he scored just five points and attempted only four field goals.
Nurkić did not travel with the team ahead of the road trip due to testing positive for the flu and will officially remain out for return to competition reconditioning until the Suns return to the Valley on Saturday against the Washington Wizards.
The Bosnian big man did not play in the two games prior to the road trip by coach’s decision. Nurkić has seemingly fallen out of the rotation with the emergence of rookie center Oso Ighodaro and recent acquisition of 7-foot center Nick Richards.
The Suns play the Nets on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. EST.
