The Phoenix Suns traded their 2031 unprotected first-round pick to the Utah Jazz in exchange for three first-rounders, according to ESPN NBA Insider Shams Charania.

Prior to this trade, the Suns only had two tradeable draft picks – the unprotected 2031 first-rounder that they just traded and a 2026 second-round pick (via Denver). Phoenix now does not control a single draft pick until 2032.

What does this trade do for the Suns?
Not only has Phoenix opened up draft flexibility for the foreseeable future, but it tripled its draft assets for what could be a possible Bradley Beal-Jimmy Butler trade.
The Suns didn’t have nearly enough draft capital to move off of Beal and center Jusuf Nurkic before this trade, but facilitating a deal that includes Butler and Beal is much easier with these newly acquired assets.
