Famous personal basketball trainer Chris Brickley revealed Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant’s unique warmup routine whenever he works out with the popular trainer.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! On the latest episode of former Los Angeles Lakers and current Brooklyn Nets guard D’Angelo Russell’s Backyard Podcast, Brickley was asked to share distinctive routines that players do when he works them out. He shared that Durant does one thing before his workout that no one else has done in his experience.
“Something that KD does that’s interesting,” Brickley shared. “This is just my personal (observation), so KD if you see this and I’m wrong, this is just what I see.
“He comes in the gym, and whatever he’s wearing, he’ll either play one-on-one with his boy, he’ll either shoot around ’til he gets a little sweat, with the clothes he’s wearing. Then he’ll change, do a little stretch, and literally the first drill we do is (at) 100 percent.”
Brickley went on to say that most athletes who have, say, a 60-minute session, spend the first 20 minutes loosely warming up and the other 40 minutes going at it. But that, “KD’s 60 minutes is 60 minutes,” of going at 100 percent.
These types of nuggets from a trainer of Brickley’s stature just show another layer of why Durant is the prestigious scorer he has grown to be.
