Ranked as No. 21 last Sunday, the newest Associated Press’ Top 25 poll was released and Arizona State (9-2, 6-2 Big 12) rose to No. 14, the exact spot where BYU was coming into Saturday’s game. Courtesy of a three-touchdown performance by Cam Skattebo, ASU went on to beat the Cougars 28-23.

With multiple results going for and against some of the other schools in the Big 12, the conference is shaping up to be an absolute dogfight heading into next weekend.

Falling to No. 19, BYU (9-2, 6-2) dropped five spots following the loss to the Sun Devils. Iowa State (9-2, 6-2) jumped up to No. 17 with a 31-28 win over Utah, and Colorado (8-3, 6-2) plummeted significantly to No. 23 after the Buffaloes were blown out by Kansas 37-21.

The top four schools from the Big 12 all have the same conference record with one game left in the regular season. Since both BYU and Colorado lost, there are numerous amounts of tiebreaker scenarios that are in play going the final weekend of conference action before the Big 12 title game.

It is a must-win weekend for all four programs if they want a shot at a Big 12 Conference Championship spot next Saturday.
