Gearing up to play the Los Angeles Chargers in front of a national audience on Monday Night Football, the Arizona Cardinals elevated two players from their practice squad.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! With key defensive players Bilal Nichols, Justin Jones, and Darius Robinson on injured reserve, the Cardinals have activated Ben Stille. Stille, who spent part of the 2023 season with the Cardinals, started this season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before joining Arizona’s practice squad prior to Week 5. Last year, he contributed in five games for the Cardinals, playing approximately 35% of the defensive snaps.
In addition to Stille, the Cardinals have elevated Markus Bailey to bolster their defense in light of Kyzir White’s knee injury. The 27-year-old linebacker, who played his first four NFL seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, primarily contributed on special teams. Notably, Bailey was part of the Bengals’ playoff runs in 2022 and 2023, and he participated in 80% of special teams snaps during Cincinnati’s Super Bowl LVIII loss to the Rams.
The Cardinals have not beaten the Chargers since 2014. Los Angeles will enter the game with the fewest points allowed per game in the National Football League. However, they will be extremely shorthanded on offense, as five of their seven wide receivers are either out or questionable.
