Tim Tawa, a former 11th-round pick from the 2021 draft, began his season with the Amarillo Sod Poodles in Double-A, where he quickly made his presence felt. Over 105 games, Tawa tallied 111 hits, including 22 home runs, earning a well-deserved promotion to the Reno Aces in August.

After his call-up, Tawa continued to thrive at the Triple-A level. In 37 games with the Aces, he posted a stellar .304 batting average and added 10 more home runs to his season tally, finishing the year with an impressive 31 homers across both levels. During the final 28 games of the regular season, Tawa remained a key offensive contributor, going 17-for-57 at the plate with five home runs. However, he struggled in the Pacific Coast League Championship, managing just one hit in seven at-bats and striking out three times when the Aces needed him most.

Spencer Giesting, the Diamondbacks’ 11th-round selection in the 2022 draft, split his season between the Hillsboro Hops in High-A and the Sod Poodles in Double-A. After being promoted to Double-A in early June, Giesting took some time to adjust to the higher level of competition. Once he found his groove, though, the left-hander became a dominant force on the mound. He capped off his season with two excellent starts, striking out 12 batters over 13 innings while allowing just one earned run.

Giesting is listed as the Diamondbacks’ No. 27 overall prospect, Tawa is not ranked.
