Christian Walker and Joc Pederson powered the Diamondbacks to an early lead against the Rangers on Monday, blasting back-to-back home runs for the fourth time this season. With that, the duo tied J.D. Martinez and Paul Goldschmidt for the single-season Diamondbacks record, a feat last achieved in 2017.

Dynamic duo. ????

For Walker, the homer was a much-needed confidence boost after struggling to regain form since returning from the IL. Entering Tuesday with just 3 hits in 15 at-bats, Walker responded by smashing two home runs and driving in three runs, contributing to Arizona’s 6-0 victory.
In a sharp contrast to the 2023 World Series, Arizona showed no mercy against Texas during the two-game series at Chase Field, outscoring the Rangers 20-4. The Diamondbacks also flexed their power, hitting five home runs in Wednesday’s game alone.
Despite the Mets‘ win on Wednesday, Arizona maintained its two-game lead in the NL Wild Card race, a lead that had dwindled to just half a game before their series against Texas.
Next up, the Diamondbacks will face the Brewers in a three-game series starting Friday. Seven of Arizona’s next 10 games will be against Milwaukee.
