Quarterback Sam Leavitt rushed for 68 yards on 11 attempts but completed 10-of-20 passes for 69 yards, which Dillingham said was because the run-heavy game plan didn’t help Leavitt get in a rhythm.
Mississippi State tried to come back in the second half by outscoring the Sun Devils 20-3, but Skattebo slid with not much time left and Leavitt kneeled to run down the clock.
