Lamb became the second-highest paid wide receiver in NFL history behind only Justin Jefferson with a four-year, $136 million extension ($100 million guaranteed, $38 million signing bonus), as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

“Thuggerrrr! Much deserved!” Murray posted on X in regards to Lamb’s contract extension.

Only four seasons into his NFL career, Lamb has 395 receptions for 5,145 yards (fourth-most receiving yards through a player’s first four seasons in NFL history) and 32 receiving touchdowns. His best season came last year, when he reeled in 135 catches for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. Lamb had been holding out from the Cowboys since OTAs, and there had been some recent drama between him and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

Lamb played a crucial role in helping Murray win the 2018 Heisman Trophy at Oklahoma, with both playing all 14 of the Sooners’ games. Lamb had 65 catches for 1,158 yards and 11 touchdowns during this year, while Murray completed 260-of-377 pass attempts for 4,361 yards, 42 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Murray also rushed 140 times for 1,001 yards and 12 touchdowns, which all led to him being the No. 1 overall pick by the Cardinals in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Lamb ended up being the 17th overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Cowboys, as the Cardinals went with former Clemson linebacker Isaiah Simmons with the 8th overall pick in this draft.

Both the Cardinals and Cowboys open their seasons on Sept. 8 with Arizona traveling to take on the Buffalo Bills and Dallas playing on the road against the Cleveland Browns.
