Today’s game is the final of five friendlies for Team USA leading up to the 2024 Paris Olympics, meaning Durant will have now missed the entire preseason.

Vardon added: “the plan is for (Durant) to continue onto Paris and play at the Olympics, a source said. He is considered day to day.”

Durant practiced for the first time Friday and was seen practicing yesterday as well. He is Team USA men’s basketball’s all-time Olympic-leading point scorer (435 points) and has scored 640 points overall in his international career (most ever for Team USA across the Olympics and FIBA). Durant has been a part of the last three Olympic teams, who have all won the gold medal with Durant as their leading scorer every year.

Team USA’s first Olympic game is on July 28 against Serbia. They have won all four exhibition games up until this point, but barely beat South Sudan by one point on Saturday. Germany features NBA talents like Dennis Schroeder and Mo and Franz Wagner, and won the FIBA World Cup last year.

Devin Booker will be starting his second-straight game for Team USA against Germany after recording just five points against South Sudan.

Today’s game tips off at 12 p.m. MST and will be televised on FOX.
