The roster features all three of the team’s new rookies who are already under contract: 28th overall pick Ryan Dunn (Virginia), No. 40 pick Oso Ighodaro (Marquette) and undrafted two-way player Jalen Bridges (Baylor).

Another notable name on the roster is David Roddy, who is on a standard contract with the Suns but only saw 63 minutes of playing time across 17 games after being acquired at the trade deadline from the Memphis Grizzlies.

Roddy (two years) and Quinndary Weatherspoon (three years) are the only two players on the roster with more than a year of NBA experience.

11 of the 15 players on the team are rookies, while Isaiah Wong (the 55th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft) and Robert Franks have one year of experience in the NBA. One interesting name left off the roster is Collin Gillespie, who signed a two-way deal with the Suns last week.

Rookies Boo Buie (Northwestern), Tyrese Samuel (Florida) and Tyson Walker (Michigan State) were quickly reported to agree to deals with Phoenix for the summer league after the conclusion of the 2024 NBA Draft.

The team will be coached by Vince Legarza, who was the first reported assistant coach hired under new coach Mike Budenholzer.

Below is the team’s full roster with position, height, weight, birthdate, college and experience included for every player (via Suns):

Overall, this is a rare showing of youth by the Summer Suns ahead of the inaugural season of their G League team, The Valley Suns, this fall, as they look to bring in new faces to their developmental team.

The Summer Suns will begin play on July 13 against the Golden State Warriors summer team at 8 p.m. MST.

This is Phoenix’s Summer League schedule in Las Vegas with one additional game to be played on July 20 or 21:

  • Saturday, July 13 vs. Golden State Warriors at 8 p.m. MST (TV: ESPN2)
  • Tuesday, July 16 vs. Indiana Pacers at 1 p.m. MST (TV: ESPNU)
  • Wednesday, July 17 vs. Oklahoma City Thunder at 5 p.m. MST (TV: NBA TV)
  • Friday, July 19 vs. Milwaukee Bucks at 1 p.m. MST (TV: NBA TV)

The Summer Suns should be a very intriguing team to watch in the coming weeks compared to previous years.
