After trading with the Denver Nuggets to draft 28th overall instead of 22nd, the Suns secured the defensive player they were seeking by selecting Ryan Dunn, a guard from the University of Virginia.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Last year, Dunn was named to the ACC All-Defense team, averaging an impressive 2.3 blocks per game along with 1.3 steals per game.
Offensively, the 21-year-old shot .548 from the field, averaging 8.1 points per game.
Following the selection, fans were pleased with how the Suns managed the first round. In addition to Dunn, the trade with Denver also brought Phoenix the 56th overall pick in this year’s draft, a second-round pick in 2026, and another second-round pick in 2031, boosting their depleted stockpile of picks over the next seven years.

Ryan Dunn needs some work on O, but he has the potential to be the type of player every team covets:

Watching some more Ryan Dunn tape and he can pass… Very underrated passer. The Phoenix Suns got a good one and he's going to be a fan favorite. I can already tell!

If Ryan Dunn can become a solid passer he will certainly be a fan favorite in Phoenix.
They already have KD, Book, and Beal. Dunn doesn’t need to be a solid scorer on the @Suns, he needs to get these guys the ball and be the monster he is on the defensive end. Perfect fit.… pic.twitter.com/E33A4nf9v8
