After making a rehab start with the Class-A Rancho Cucamonga last Wednesday, it seemed that future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw would be starting against the Reno Aces on Tuesday. However, due to lingering soreness in his left shoulder, Kershaw was shut down from throwing activities over the weekend.

Gearing up for his start in Reno, hoping to boost ticket sales, the Aces announced that they would be hosting the 3-time Cy Young winner at Greater Nevada Field for his start with Oklahoma City, the Dodgers’ minor league affiliate.

Since Kershaw ultimately did not make his rehab start on Tuesday, the Diamondbacks’ Triple-A affiliate announced that fans who purchased a single-game ticket for Tuesday would receive a free voucher for an additional game of their choice from Sunday to Thursday.

This gesture from the Aces was pure class as they begin the second half of the season in the Pacific Coast League. The first half was won by the Sugar Land Cowboys, the Astros’ minor league affiliate.
The second-half winner will ultimately play the Cowboys in the PCL championship series on September 24th.
