Key moments, including a failed fourth-down conversion just before halftime and a critical interception in the second half, allowed Vegas to gain and maintain momentum. Vegas ultimately secured a 55-50 victory, putting the Rattlers’ playoff hopes in jeopardy.

“We have three games left and we have to win all three to have a chance,” Rattlers’ head coach Kevin Guy said.

The Rattlers were initially ahead but lost their lead due to a strong finish by the Knight Hawks in the first half. Despite a strong performance from Shannon Brooks and a notable effort from quarterback Dalton Sneed, the Rattlers couldn’t overcome the deficit. Vegas’ Ja’Rome Johnson was particularly effective, scoring eight total touchdowns and leading his team to victory.

Corey Reed Jr.’s late-game touchdown brought the Rattlers close, but their onside kick attempt failed, allowing the Knight Hawks to secure the win by running out the clock. The Rattlers’ defense managed to make some key plays, including interceptions by Traevar Ferrell and Jarmaine Doubs, but it wasn’t enough to counter Vegas’ explosive performance.

With this loss, the Rattlers dropped to 8-5 and are now at risk of falling out of playoff contention if Northern Arizona wins their upcoming game. Arizona’s next chance to improve their standing comes against the Iowa Barnstormers, 4-8, which will be crucial for their playoff aspirations.
