Second-year forward Liz Dixon mentioned that the team has worked on ‘a little bit of everything’ since Phoenix’s loss to Las Vegas.

“We’ve worked on a little bit of everything,” said Dixon. “We worked on new plays we wanted to put in, going back through our old plays…Going over our defensive stuff, things we need to fix, and going over the scout.”

As Atlanta makes the trip to Phoenix, the Mercury looks to tally their first win of the season, while the Dream looks to improve to 2-0. Atlanta visited Los Angeles to take on the Sparks on Wednesday, coming out victorious behind the efforts of Rhyne Howard and Tina Charles. As the Dream looks to win yet another game on the road, the Mercury know they have their work cut out for them.

“They’re a very, very great team,” said Dixon. “They have a lot of great vets, they like to get downhill a lot, so our transition defense is going to be huge. But I think we’re going to have our moments on offense where we get to score easily.”

Phoenix will host Atlanta on Saturday at 7 p.m. MST.
