In the 1st inning, Arizona quickly took the lead with a leadoff base hit from Ketel Marte, followed by a double from Jake McCarthy. Both McCarthy and Marte scored shortly after, providing the only runs the Diamondbacks would need.

Ryne Nelson was on the mound to start for Arizona, pitching three innings and allowing one earned run in the 3rd inning from two hits. Nelson also struck out 5 batters.

Following Nelson, a bullpen team consisting of Humberto Castellanos, Josh Green, Jose Castillo, Chris Rodriguez, and Ricky Karcher pitched six shutout innings. This effort allowed the Diamondbacks to maintain their lead, relying solely on the runs scored in the first inning.

A potential threat emerged in the 9th inning when Ricky Karcher faced a challenging situation with runners on first and third and only one out. However, he managed to prevent any runs by inducing a groundout and striking out the final batter.

The Diamondbacks are scheduled to play against the Cincinnati Reds tomorrow night at 6:05 pm.
